Maybe, you will find many mistakes and funny descriptions of bad English translation within our program/ documents and our web site, to provoke your laughter and anger... About "iText Pro" The "iText Pro" is a cute Text Editor of colorful-design matching the iMac, having a lot of functions limited from LightWayText. It's a popular text editor in Japan, and it's Top in a download-ranking of Japanese Editor-category currently. We want to introduce this in the world, and made its English version. It developed aiming at the "Simple is Best & It's a Cool", and all interfaces are taking in "Macintosh Mind of the early days". So, even beginner can operate it intuitively fast. And, it can also edit even big text documents more than 32 kbytes with very high speed. You will get all the power you expect from full-featured word processing program. It can do operation necessary for editing intuitively, and there are many ways to change the appearance of your document. You can control character emphasis very easily, or choose fonts, font sizes, colors, and decoration lines of each every one character. You're also, able to change to every one paragraph the Indents or the Margins, and to paste up PICT or JPEG images, and to create spreadsheet-like tables. Naturally, it can display your document in the size that you need to do edit. Furthermore, it can do many layout indications by the various ways, for example, the Vertical Writing format of "Tategaki" that a book of Japanese usually uses, or basis Form of Japanese Manuscript paper "Genkou Yousi" and so on. Besides, you can additionally let "iText Pro" create the back-up file automatically, and it supplies to you many special menus and macro-functions to stimulate creator mind of professional. Maybe, you'll judge the "iText Pro" is available very widely, from the programming to the writing of all kinds of document of every language, Even if you're in other language-zones of English or Japanese ! 1.1. What's iText Pro ? Ñ The "iText Pro" is a "Magical Tool" that has various faces ! Please use it, just like "MacWrite" ! In addition to a normal editor function, it carries various useful functions, that's more powerful than a marketed general Word Processor. The "iTextPro" has "LightWayText" and nearly same function except upper functions, such as "Designation of Text-form", or "Word Service", "Macro Editor", "Utility-Programs (ReadMeMaker and so on)". And documents can do Step-up to the "LightWayText" if you need more functions. The "iText Pro" will become your good partner, and it'll certainly supply comfortable work environment without harming an image of iMac and iBook which are cute, to you. Please use it conveniently, you'll find "iText Pro" useful just like "SimpleText" or "MacWrite" of Apple purity !! Ñ Features - Example of useful functions of iText Pro Information: In a back chapter of this manual, there is All Functions-list of "iText Pro 3.0.2E" that was classed according to the category. If you need it, see "6.iTextPro Function Lists", too. It works with both Power Macintosh and 68K Macintosh and can use it at Power Macintosh original speed, because it's a "FAT_Binary Application". It's compatible with all of "LightWayText Family Applications (LightWayText & iText)". It can edit big text documents more than 32 kbytes (so long as memory allows it) with very high speed. It copes with "Drag & Drops", and AppleScript. It copes with "TSM (Text Services Manager) inline" input. It copes with an "Automatic Indent", "Smart Word Edit", and "Caret Underline" Indication is possible. It can change an English font and Japanese font automatic. It copes with "Live Scroll", and "Split Window". It can display the document with a paper image (expansion / reduction by 25-400% size), and can edit with that situation. It can put the bookmark and can manage it (by "Mark List"). It can control character emphasis, or choose fonts / font sizes / colors and decorations, or rich variations in each one character. It lumps arbitrary font / size /style together and can register these (by "Define Styles"). It can change the Indent or Margins, and Variable-tab setting, by each paragraph. It can divide the Column-setting, keeping the layout image of 1 page. It can use various Forms (Japanese Manuscript paper or Campus notebook and so on), to indication / editing / print. It can easily make the table by using the "Tabs Table Form" that provides an automatic table-setting function by setting the variable tabs. It can make and registre a new Form, or it can change a Form-design (by "Custum Form"). It can customize key operation / menu operation (by "Key Customization"). It can assign a function to the key (F1-F12), and execute it quickly (by "Function Bar"). It can record and execute series operation automatically (by "Key Macro"). Everyday schedule management, a color change of appointment time or indication of message are possible (by "Color Scheduler"). By the Special-Option ( + Click URL) of "Preferences", it can let the "Internet Browser & Mail-Reader" execute automatically and indicate the homepage. 1.2. Requirement of iText Pro The iTextPro3.0.2E copes with Mac-OS version 7.1 and later versions. Ñ The "Classic version" is exclusive-use program from Mac OS 7.1 to Mac OS 9.X. Ñ The "Carbon version" is exclusive-use program that's for "Mac OS X 10.0" and later versions. 1.3. About "LightWayText" We made "iText Pro", limited with only a basic word processing function from "LightWayText". The "LightWayText (Shareware)" is more powerful text editor that contain many convenient functions necessary for the document creation. If you like iText, please try out LightWayText by all means once, you'll find it more useful ! The newest LightWayText can Download from the following site. As for "LightWayText", there are Macintosh version and Windows version. It can let you realize almost the same operating environment at two computers, and it's compatible with each other's documents. If you're also MS-Windows user, please use "LightWayText" in both Windows and Macintosh, it'll be very convenient for you. If you register to LightWayText by "A Single User License ($25 per user)", it'll be licensed to take advantage of LightWayText in both of Machintosh/Windows and "LightWayText Family Applications (iText/iTextPro)". Or, you can do Step-up to "LightWayText" from "iTextPro" by Up-grade registration (A Single User registration; $10 per user). Attention: "LightWayText/iText for Windows" is only Japanese- versions. There're not English versions currently, and a release plan of "LightWayText/iText for Windows of English version" is unsettled. (In a last chapter of this manual, there is an introduction of "LightWayText-Family", please see it.) 2. Document Window The document window of iText Pro consists of the following parts. ╩ As for the "Toolbar", it can change indication / Non-indication by choosing "Show Toolbar" from Window menu. If you need more information, see "3.6.1.Toolbar". As for the "Form Tools", it can change indication / Non-indication by choosing "Show Form Tools" from Format menu. If you need more information, see "3.5.1.Form Tools". 2.1. Ruler The "Ruler" is a horizontal scale at the top of a document window, it is divided into inches or other units of measures you choose. It can change indication / Non-indication by choosing "Show Ruler" from format menu. When you point to ╩ mark, "Ruler unit menu" is indicated. ╩ When you drag to the markers (╩ /╩) in the ruler, the following position changes. ╩ marker The first line start position Left╩marker The left indent position Right╩marker The right indent position If you need more information, see "3.5.1.1. Paragraph Dialog". When you click ╩ and exchange it to ╩, and drag the markers, the following position changes. Left╩marker The left margin position Right╩marker The right margin position If you need more information, see "3.5.3. Page Layout Dialog". 2.2. Line Number When you select "Show Line #" from Format menu, "Indication part of Line Numbers" is indicated. And if you point to ╩ mark (indicated at the left edge of window), "Line # Start menu" is indicated. By using it, re-count from an arbitrary line is possible. ╩ Start Line # Re-counts a line number from selected line. Clear Line # Puts back a line number of the back from a selected line. Clear All Line #. Puts back all changed line numbers. 2.3. Information Area To the "Information area (the document window left lower part)" information such as "Line number", "Column number", and "Page number" is displayed. ╩ When you point to ╩ mark, "View Size menu" is indicated. ╩ mark Indicates that contents of the document changed. ╩ mark Indicates that the document is read-only. ╩ Indicates a current "Line number", "Column number", and "Page number (Only with "Show Paper Image")". Additionally, by a mouse click, it can do the following operations. Double click to "L: C: part" Displays the "Line Dialog". Option + Click to "L: C: part" Moves a cursor to the last line. Option + Shift + Click to "L: C: part" Moves a cursor to the top line. Command + Click to "L: C: part" Displays the "Line Dialog". Click to "P: part" Displays the next page. Shift + Click to "P: part" Displays the previous page. Option + Click to "P: part" Displays the last page. Option + Shift + Click to "P: part" Displays the first page. Command + Click to "P: part" Displays the "Page Dialog". 2.4. Split Window When you point to the "Split bar" (at the top of the vertical scroll bar), the pointer changes shape to indicate, and you can drag the pointer to the location at which you want to split the document window. And, the document window is divided into two top and bottom. ╩ 2.5. Special Operations When you point to the "Title bar" with the Option key, the "Window-shade" is done, and when you click the "Close box" with the Option key, all document windows are closed. 3. Menus and Dialogs When you choose "About iText Pro" from Apple menu, it displays your version and registrant name of iText Pro. If you'd registered a "Color Scheduler" with "Color Preference Dialog", it indicates today's schedule. (The schedules can do registration / editing / elimination.) When you execute it with the Option or Shift key on, it displays a version and a registrant to the usual. If you need more information, see "3.2.3.4.2. Color Scheduler". If you'd turned on the "Show Font Menus" with "Preference Dialog /Option", it indicates Font, Size, and Style menu on the menu-bar. If you need more information, see "3.2.3.2.Option" and "3.4.Font, Size, Style menu". 3.1. File Menu ╩ New. Makes a new document window. Open... With "Open Dialog", opens text documents you select. Recent Displays the list of the text documents name that used recently by sub-menu. Browser.. Displays the "Browser Tool", by using it you can browse contents and preview of text/PICT/JPEG documents. Close Closes the document window. Save Saves contents of a document. Save As... With "Save As Dialog", saves contents of a document with another name. Revert to Saved Returns the document to the contents which it saved last. Page Setup... Displays the "Page Setup Dialog". Print... Prints contents of the document. Quit Ends a iText Pro. If you've made change to a document without saving, it presents a message asking "Save changes to the file ?" And if the document is untitled, it displays the "Save As Dialog". 3.1.1. Browser Tool By using the "Browser Tool", you can browse contents and previews of text or PICT/JPEG documents, and open it quickly. ╩ Folder Menu The left Menu-box displays the "Folder Name" to intend for browsing. Folder Name List The left List-box lists the sub-folder names inside of the target folder. File Menu The right Menu-box displays the "File Type" to intend for indicating the list. You can select either of "Text File" or "PICT File" or "JPEG File" or "All Files". File Name List The right List-box lists the file names inside of the target folder. Preview If you turn on this option, the window for preview appears at the lower part. Info... Displays the "File Info Dialog" of a selected file. If you need more information, see "3.1.1.1. File Info Dialog". Open. Opens text documents of a selected file name. Preview Window. Displays a part of contents of a selected file. It's the Key operation in a "Folder Name List" that explains next. Up/Down key. Chooses the sub-folder name. Command + Down key. Moves into the sub-folder. Command + Up key. Moves to the parents folder. Click to the folder name. Moves into the sub-folder. Tab key. Moves the target of selection to the "File Name List". It's the Key operation in a "File Name List" that explains next. Up/Down key. Chooses the file name. Shift + Up/Down key. Chooses more than one file name together. Command + Up/Down key. Moves to the top / last line of the file name list. Shift/Command + Click. Chooses more than one file name together. Double click to the file name. Opens the text document. Tab key Moves the target of selection to the "Folder Name List". 3.1.1.1. File Info Dialog It displays file information of the file which'd chosen with the "Browser Tool". ╩ File Name Displays the "File Name", and editing is possible. Type Displays the "Type", and editing is possible. Creator Displays the "Creator (the application name that made it)", and editing is possible. Kind Displays the "Kind" of the file. Size Displays the "Size" of the file. Where. Displays the save location of the file. Created Displays the creating date of the file. Modified Displays the modification date of the file. File Flags Displays the Attributes of the file, and each editing is possible. 3.2. Edit Menu ╩ Undo Reverses your last editing or formatting action, and it copes with doing "Multi-undo", too. Redo Reverses your last undo action, and it copes with doing "Multi-redo", too. Only at the time when you'd executed undo command, it's indicated. Cut Deletes the selected text and puts it onto the "Clipboard", replaces the previous contents of the "Clipboard". Copy Sends the selected text to the "Clipboard", replaces the previous contents of the "Clipboard". Paste Inserts a copy of the "Clipboard" contents at the insertion point or replaces the selection. Clear Removes the selected text, without placing it on the "Clipboard". Select All Selects all contents of the current document. More Paste Displays the "More Paste" menu by sub-menu. Paste Text Turns a copy of the contents of "Clipboard" into only Text and pastes it. Paste Style Turns a copy of the contents of "Clipboard" into only Style (Font, Size, Style) and pastes it. Paste Ruler Takes out only the Ruler (the paragraph format) from a copy of the "Clipboard" and pastes it. Page Break Turns the text of the back into the next page than the insertion point. Or, you can use the Option key + Enter key for it, too. Character Code... Displays the "Character Code Dialog". If you need more information, see "3.2.1.Character Code Dialog". JPEG Picture... With "JPEG Picture Dialog", inserts JPEG file you select. The inserted JPEG images are indicated on both Macintosh and Windows. Notice: iTextPro cope with only basic DTC format JPEG File. There're some JPEG images that it cannot display besides. Further when there is not enough work memory in iTextPro, it is not indicated too. Option Displays the "Option menu" by sub-menu. Change J-Roman (Only in "Japanese Font" use.) Converts "Zenkaku-Moji" (full size) / "Hankaku-Moji" (half size) of the selected Japanese text. With Japanese, "Zenkaku-Moji" means the "Kanji/Hiragana" and "Katakana/alphanumeric character" of 2 bytes, and "Hankaku-Moji" means the "Katakana/alphanumeric character" of 1 byte. Change J-Kana (Only in "Japanese Font" use.) Converts "Hiragana" / "Katakana" of the selected Japanese text. Change Case Converts uppercase / lowercase characters of the selected text. Capitalize Turns the back into the lowercase characters than it in the uppercase at a top of the selections. Shift Left Removes a "Tab code" of a head of the line, and shifts the selected text to the left. Shift Right Inserts the "Tab code" to a head of the line, and shifts the selected text to the right. Read-Only Document Sets it to the "Read-only document" that's impossible to edit only reading. TSM-Inline Changes "ON/OFF" of the "TSM (Text Services Manager)" inline input. Auto Indent Changes "ON/OFF" of the "Automatic Indent" of the next line. Caret Underline When you turn on this, displays the "Underline" in an editing cursor (caret) line. Smart Word Edit If you turn on this, at the time of cut, paste, delete, or "Drag & Drop", it adjusts the space between the each English words. Key Macro Displays the "Key Macro menu" by sub-menu. "Key Macro" is a function that records serial operations and executes it automatic. Record Key Macro Starts a record of "Key operation" or "Menu command operation". While recording the macro, it displays the following message at a top of the Ruler. [ Key Macro Recording... ESC key : Stop. ] When you end it, input the ESC key or select "Record Key Macro menu" once again. Execute Key Macro Executes the key macro that recorded last. If you stop it, input the ESC key. Define Key Macro... Displays the "Define Key Macro Dialog", in order to register the key macro that you recorded last by the "Record Key Macro menu". The registered key macros're displayed in the menu. If you need more information, see "3.2.2.Define Key Macro Dialog". Preferences... Displays the "Preferences Dialog". If you need more information, see "3.2.3.Preferences Dialog". Customize... Displays the "Customize Dialog". If you need more information, see "3.2.4.Customize Dialog". Show Clipboard Displays the "Clipboard (Scrap Catalog)". If you need more information, see "3.2.5.Clipboard (Scrap Catalog)". 3.2.1. Character Code Dialog It displays the characters which you can input by codes with current font. If you chose the "Character Code" menu with pushing an Option key, it lists the "Option Characters". A character which you clicked is input at the insertion point or replaces the selection. ╩ 3.2.2. Define Key Macro Dialog It registers the key macro that you recorded last by the "Record Key Macro menu". ╩ The registered key macros're displayed at the bottom part of the "Key Macro menu". When you choose it, the key macro corresponding to the name is executed. (Further, the key macros registered with a menu can specify a menu key by a customization dialog. If you need more information, see "3.2.4.1.Menu Key".) If you remove a "Key macro Name" that you registered, display this Dialog, and select a "Key macro Name", and then click "Delete". 3.2.3. Preferences Dialog It controls many "Default Setting" for iTextPro. 3.2.3.1. General It controls "General Preferences", and indicates the current defaults. ╩ Startup Specifies a action of startup of iTextPro. Units Specifies a unit to use with "Page Layout Dialog". Ruler Specifies a unit of the ruler for the new document. Justify Specifies a "paragraph alignment method" of either of "Left, Right, Center, or Justified", for the new document. If you choose the "Justified", it adjusts the paragraph, equally between both edges, and if there is the spaces (or half size space of the Japanese characters), it does it uniformly by expanding spaces. J-Wrap (Only in "Japanese Font" use.) Specifies the method of "Japanese-Word Wrap" for the new document. If you specify either (the "Dangle" or "Expel"), it executes the "Japanese-Word Wrap" function, by that method. (This special function is called "Kinsoku-syori" in Japanese, often translated into English as "Japanese Hyphenation Function". It neatly handles the Japanese characters that must not be in head and end of the line.) When you choose the "Dangle", it does hang the characters to process, to the line's end. And if you choose the "Expel", it sends it to the next line's top. Font Specifies a "Default Font" for the new document. Size Specifies a "Default Font Size" for the new document. Color Specifies a "Default Font Color" for the new document. Tabs Specifies a "Default Tab Width" for the new document, by the number of the characters (with the Default font size.) Wordwrap If you turn on this option, executes the "Wordwrap" function with the new document. Line Specifies a "Default Line Interval" for the new document, by the number of points. V Margin Specifies a "Default Top/Bottom Margin (in "Paper Image")" for the new document. H Margin Specifies a "Default Left/Right Margin (in "Paper Image")" for the new document. If you want to change each of the "Top/Bottom Margin" or the "Left/Right Margin", divide it with "Comma Code" and input two sizes. (Example) Left margin 1.2cm, Right margin 1.5cm H Margin: [ 1.2, 1.5 ] cm TSM-Inline If you turn on this option, executes the "TSM (Text Services Manager) Inline Input" with the new document. Auto Indent If you turn on this option, executes the "Automatic Indent" of the next line with the new document. Caret Underline If you turn on this option, with the new document, displays the "Underline" in an editing cursor (caret) line. Smart Word Edit If you turn on this option, with the new document, at the time of cut, paste, delete, or "Drag & Drop", it adjusts the space between the each English words. Show Ruler , Show Line# , Show Info Area. If you turn on the option of these, indicates these within the new window. Show Invisibles, Show Line Turn, Show Page Guides, Show Paper Image. If you turn on the option of these, indicates these conditions with the new document. Show Magical View. If you turn on this option, it indicates the document by the method of "Tategaki" with the new document. "Tategaki" is the Vertical Writing format that a book of Japanese usually uses, it reverses a direction of paper, in order to enumerate "Japanese characters" lengthwise. Show Form Tools. If you turn on this option, it indicates the "Form Tools" within the new window. Option Tab Displays the "Option Preferences Dialog". File Tab Displays the "File Preferences Dialog". Special Tab Displays the "Special Preferences Dialog". Attention: If you push the "Cancel" button on the way, all of the contents specified until it in the "Preferences Dialog" become invalid. 3.2.3.2. Option It controls "Option Preferences", and indicates the current defaults. ╩ Window Option Set Opening Window Size If you turn on this option, you can specify a "Default Window Size" for the new document. Record Present Window Size If you want to specify the size of current window to a "Default Window Size", click on this option. Window Background Color If you want to specify a "Default Window Background Color", click on this option and then choose a color you want. "Key Script Option" is an option of using Multi-Language font and keyboard. Key Script To Font Auto Change. If you turn on this option, you can do automatic switch of "Font" with the new document. It does switch "Font" as follows, if you changed an input script by the "Input Menu" of the right-side. (Japanese="System Initial Font", English="Roman Initial Font".) Font To Key Script Auto Change. Only when you'd turned on "Key Script To Font Auto Change", this option is indicated. If you turn on this option, you can do automatic switch of "Key Script (of Japanese or English)", by a kind of "Font" in the position of an editing cursor, with the new document. System Initial Font. Specifies a "Default Japanese Font" for the new document. If you'd used "Japanese Mac OS", the "System" mean Japanese. "System" is a default language of the OS that you use. Roman Initial Font. Specifies a "Default English Font" for the new document. Inline Input Specifies these options only when, with "Japanese Mac OS", it uses "Kotoeri" or "ATOK8" for the Japanese TSM-Inline method. Inline Color. Specifies a inline-color that indicates under a sentence. Vertical Key Specifies a way of key operation of inline-input in Japanese Tategaki (Vertical Writing). If you do not turn on this, it's possible to do regular operation with arrow keys in Tategaki, too. (With Left/Right keys: Selects a clause, With Up/Down keys: Selects a word.) When you turn on this, it becomes contrary. (With Left/Right keys: Selects a word, With Up/Down keys: Selects a clause.) Re-Convert. Specifies this option only with "Classic verion". If you turn on the "ReCvt-Rmn or Kana", you can re-convert characters of the selected Japanese text. Notice: It can't specify this option with "Carbon version". ReCvt-Rmn. Choose this, if you type the "Romaji" to Convert Kana to Kanji, by using the "Roman keyboard". ReCvt-Kana. Choose this, if you type the "Kana" to Convert Kana to Kanji, by using the "Japanese keyboard". ReCvt-None. Choose this, if you don't need to do re-convert. Enable Live Scroll. If you turn on this option, when it does drag of "Scroll bar" within the new window, indicates contents by the "Live Scroll". Show Font Menus. If you turn on this option, it indicates the "Font", "Size", and "Style" menu, on the menu-bar within the new window. 3.2.3.3. File It controls "File Preferences", and indicates the current defaults. ╩ Auto Save (Every 1-60 Min). If you turn on this option, executes save automatically with the new document, in every minute that specified. Backup Save (1-50 Files). If you turn on this option, executes "Backup Save" automatically with the new document, until number specified. When you save a file, leaves a file before updating by another name as a history file, until 50 backups in each of the documents. The backup file name is made with a form of "[1]DocumentName". (Creates backups from [1] to [50], and [1] are the newest.) (Example) The case of the file name "iTextPro Manual". [1]iTextPro Manual Backup File 1. [2]iTextPro Manual Backup File 2. [3]iTextPro Manual Backup File 3. Recent Files. Sets conditions of the "Recent Menu" of File menu. Max File Number (0-30). Specifies the number of files to indicate in "Recent Menu" of File menu. With maximum 30, it isn't indicated at the time of 0. Max Folder Number (0-10). Specifies the number of folder to indicate in "Recent Menu" of File menu. With maximum 10, it isn't indicated at the time of 0. 3.2.3.4. Special It controls "Special Preferences (for advanced users)", and indicates the current defaults. ╩ Color Variation. Specifies a "Default Color Variation (Indication color)" of "Ruler", "Line number", "Information area", and "Invisibles marks". Appearance. Appearance color of Mac OS 8.5 and later version. Classic. Delete Removes the schedule that you chose. J-Wrap Characters... (Only in "Japanese Font" use.) (When you click it with the Option + Command key on, it's only choice of the "URL or email-address", and the Browser or Mail-Reader isn't executed.) 3.2.3.4.1. Color Preference Dialog It is indicated when you chose a "Preference1 - 10" from the "Color Variation" in the "Special Preferences" of the "Preferences Dialog". If you want to specify the background color of the screen and the characters color of the screen, click on these and then choose a color you want. Back Color Specifies a color of the background. Fore Color Specifies a color of the characters. Invisibles/Page Guides If you want to, click on these and then choose a color you want. Tab Code. Specifies the color of the Tab code and the other control codes. Return Code. Specifies the color of the Line Feed code (Return) and the Page Feed code (Page Break). Space Code. If you want to make the space (half space) being visible, specify the color of the Space code. Page Guides. Specifies the color of the "Page Guides" and the outside of paper image. Attention: All the contents that specified in this dialog become effective, by pushing "OK" button of the "Preferences Dialog". 3.2.3.4.2. Color Scheduler Dialog It is indicated when you clicked the "New" button of the "Color Scheduler" in the "Special Preferences" of the "Preferences Dialog". By using this dialog, in the time you specified, it can change a "Color Variation (indication color of the Ruler and so on)" or a setting color of a window, or display the message of schedule that's necessary. ╩ Title Specifies the title of a schedule. Date Chooses one that you want to specify. It executes this schedule each, as follows. Every Day Executes this schedule every day. Every Week Executes this schedule every week. MM/DD. Executes this schedule on a arbitrary day. Time Chooses one that you want to specify. It executes this schedule each, as follows. All Day Long. Executes this schedule all day instead of time that was particularly appointed. (00:00-24:00) From To. Executes this schedule on a arbitrary time. (If you specified a same time in the start and the end, executes for 10 seconds.) TODO Specifies the contents of a schedule. Color Variation Chooses a color variation you want to change, in the time you appointed. Window Option If you want to change the background color of the window in the time you appointed, click on it and then choose a color you want. Message. If you specify this option, in the time you appointed, it displays the "Reminder Alert" and informs you of contents of this message. When the iTextPro is "Background", a document window flashes and beep sound sounds and informs you about it. Frequency Specifies the frequency of this schedule. Attention: All the contents that specified in this dialog become effective, by pushing "OK" button of the "Preferences Dialog". When there is a schedule finished already on that day in timing of activation of a iTextPro, all "Reminder Alert" is indicated simultaneously. If you'd made today's schedule with this dialog, when you choose "About iTextPro" from Apple menu, it indicates today's schedule. And these schedules can do registration / editing / elimination. Only when you execute it with the Option or Shift key on, it displays a version and a registrant to the usual. ╩ ╩Button Indicates the schedule of the previous day. ╩Button Indicates the schedule of the next day. New... Makes a new schedule. Edit... Edits the schedule that it chose. Delete Removes the schedule that it chose. 3.2.3.4.3. J-Wrap Characters Dialog It is indicated when you clicked the "J-Wrap Characters" button in the "Special Preferences" of the "Preferences Dialog". By using this dialog, you can specify the characters to wrap in "Japanese- Word Wrap" (Japanese-Hyphenation Function). If you'd not used "Japanese Mac OS", doesn't need to specify this. "Japanese-Word Wrap" function (which is called "Kinsoku-syori" in Japanese) is a special function that neatly handles the Japanese characters that must not be in head and end of the line. It is often translated into English as "Japanese Hyphenation Function", too. If you turn on a "J-Wrap" of the "Document Dialog" (from Format menu), executes "Japanese-Word Wrap" function by using this option. It processes well with defaults, so change this only when you wish in particular. ╩ Factory Settings Initializes all of the " J-Wrap Characters" to a default. Customize Dialog It customizes and controls the Special Keys. of "Menu key", "Control key", "Arrow key" and "Function key (F1~F12)". By using it, you can specify a position in a document that you want to display quickly. ╩ When you display this dialog, indicates the current selections within the "Mark Name". If you give it a name and push the "Add" button, it is registered to the "Mark List", and it displays the menu of Mark List at the bottom part of the Find menu. When you choose it, the position corresponding to the name is indicated. If you display the "Mark List", it does not indicate the menu of Mark List. Mark List. Indicates the registered Marks. Delete . Removes the selected Mark from the Mark List. 3.3.6. Mark List It lists the registered Marks. When you display this, it does not indicate the menu of Mark List in the Find menu. By using this, you can display a position in a document that you want to display quickly, and can also do management or editing of a mark list. ╩ When you click a mark, it indicates the position corresponding to the Mark. If you click it with the Option key on, it only chooses the mark and doesn't jump. When you click it with the Shift key on, it chooses the marks up to it's sphere. By using the "Mark-editing buttons", you can give these hierarchy, and can manage it . [ << ] Moves the mark of choice sphere left. [ >> ] moves the mark of choice sphere right. When you click on the triangle mark, it hides hierarchical structure. Mark. It registers the text of selections of a document as a mark. In this case, the selected is just registered as a mark name, so you can't revise a mark name. If you need to change it, use the "Mark Dialog". When you executed it not choosing a text in a document, it jumps to the nearby mark position. Del. Removes the mark of choice sphere. [ - ] Hides the "Mark-editing buttons". 3.4. Font, Size, Style Menu (Text Menu) ╩ Font. Lists the font names. These commands change the font of selected characters. Fonts are the designs of the characters you display on the screen and print. Size. Lists the font sizes. These commands change the font size of selected characters. Larger. Makes it 1 point large than the current situation. Smaller. These commands change the text style of selected characters. Superscript. Makes it the Superscript. Subscript. Makes it the Subscript. Superior. Makes it the Superscript by 1/2 size. Inferior. If you want to divide the "Column form" (effective in "Paper Image" case only) for this Form, specify the number (more than 2) of column of 1 page. When you specified more than 2 column, you can specify an interval of each column in the "Space box" additionally. Indent. Specifies each of the indents for this Form. The "Indent" is the distance between the start of a line and the left margin or the end of a line and the right margin. Generally, it use indents to set off certain paragraphs from the document. But if you change this, it's fixed, does not exchange only certain paragraphs. So If you want to vary the distance between the text and margins for part of a document, you had better change the indents to only selected paragraphs, not use the "Form". "Tategaki" is the writing form of vertical that a book of Japanese usually uses, it reverses a direction of paper, in order to enumerate "Japanese characters" lengthwise. Show Paper Image. If you turn on this option, when you choose this Form, it displays the document in a page unit by an image of paper. Fixed Line Space, Fixed Character Space. If you check these, when you choose this Form, it makes fixed within the entire document the interval of lines or characters, and a change in each paragraph becomes impossible. Show Page Guides. If you turn on this option, when you choose this Form, it displays the "Guide-Lines" in the document window. You can use it as the Ruled-line of notebook or manuscript- paper, or a table frame. Standard Guideline. This is a standard Guideline of iTextPro. When you point to the "Guideline selection box", it lists the following various Guidelines registered beforehand with iTextPro. Specify one of either lines you need, set the "Line- Color". Bold. If you turn on this option, the "Guide- Lines"'re indicated with bold line. Print Ruled. If you turn on this option, the "Guide- Lines"'re printed according to the indication image. ╩ Fixed Font. If you turn on this option, when you choose this Form, it makes fixed the Fonts and font sizes within the entire document. And it becomes impossible to change in each the characters, even if you use the Font menu. Factory Settings. With regard to the "Attached Forms", it initializes all of the "Custom Form Dialog" to a default, only when you'd changed these, it gets possible to use. Save Changes With regard to the "Attached Forms" or registered form, it saves contents of the "Custom Form Dialog", only when you'd changed these, it gets possible to use. ADD/Delete... Or, you can specify with the "Tabs Dialog" (by choosing the "Tabs" command in "Form Tools" of Format menu). Push a return key, when you want to form the column that's similar on the next line. ╩ If you change a position of a tab-stop, a position of a column line changes with link automatically. ╩ 4. Or, you can remove with the "Tabs Dialog" (by choosing the "Tabs" command in "Form Tools" of Format menu). 3.5.2. Document Dialog It specifies in a lump the "Paragraph formats" and the "Text styles", and affects the whole current document. You can specify those with each paragraph or the certain characters, but if you want to change those in a lump, you had better use this at the last finishing, or at the first of edit. ╩ Justify Specifies a "paragraph alignment method" of either of "Left, Right, Center, or Justified". If you choose the "Justified", it adjusts all paragraphs, equally between both edges, and if there is the spaces (or half size space of the Japanese characters), it does it uniformly by expanding spaces. The paragraphs are arranged relative to the "left and right indents" rather than the "margins". J-Wrap (Only in "Japanese Font" use.) Specifies the method of "Japanese-Word Wrap" (Japanese- Hyphenation Function). If you specify either (the "Dangle" or "Expel"), it executes the "Japanese-Word Wrap" to the whole document, by that method. This special function is called "Kinsoku-syori" in Japanese, often translated into English as "Japanese Hyphenation Function". It neatly handles the Japanese characters that must not be in head and end of the line. When you choose the "Dangle", it does hang the characters to process, to the line's end. And if you choose the "Expel", it sends it to the next line's top. Font Specifies a "Standard Font" for the whole document. Size Specifies a "Standard Font Size" for the whole document. Tabs Specifies a "Standard Tab Width" for the whole document, by the number of the characters (with Standard font and size). Wordwrap If you turn on this option, executes the "Wordwrap" function with the whole document. Line Specifies a "Standard Line Interval" for the whole document, by the number of points. Font Size is an effect on All. If you turn on this option, it changes all characters of the document to the Standard font and size. (If you do not, it doesn't exchange a current state.) Count Displays the document information of the whole document. If you'd chosen a specific text, it displays document information of choice sphere. Attention: When you establish and execute this dialog, all histories of the "multi-undo" command are removed. 3.5.3. Page Layout Dialog It establishes page layout (effective in "Paper Image" case only) of a document window. It is based on a page-size specified with the "Page Setup" command, and affects the whole current document. The establishment unit of this dialog becomes the specified thing with the "General Preferences" of the "Preferences Dialog". ╩ Margin. Specifies each of the margins (effective in "Paper Image" case only). You can also specify these by the "Form Tools", quickly. If you need more information, see "3.5.1.Form Tools". The "Margin" is the spaces that's between the edge of the paper and the main text area, you can use margins for the entire document. Notice the difference between "Margins" and "Indents", the Margins are the interval of the edges of the page and the edges of the main text area. The Margins are established for the whole document. The indent determines the distance from the specific lines or paragraphs to the left or right margin boundaries, and you can specify for each individual paragraphs. If you want to divide the "Column form" (effective in "Paper Image" case only) for this document, specify the number (more than 2) of column of 1 page. Space Specifies the interval of columns. Width Indicates the width of the columns. (All becomes the same width entirely.) Information area. On real time, it indicates the situation of 1 page, with "changing of the Margins or Columns", that increases or decreases. Width Indicates the width of 1 page. Height Indicates the height of 1 page. C / Line Indicates the number of the characters (with Standard font and size) of 1 line. L / Page Indicates the number of the lines (Page height) of 1 page. 3.5.4. Header (Footer) Dialog It establishes the Header (or the Footer) in a document window. The "header" is text that prints in the top margin of each page of a document, and the "Footer" prints in the bottom margin. Both are effective only at a time of "Show Paper Image", except it, these aren't indicated. ╩ Height Specifies the height to display in the top (or the bottom) blank of paper. String Type the contents (text) to display. You can include the following descriptive Stamp, that is used in the "Headers or Footers" frequently generally. History When you point to this, it lists the histories of contents of the "String". If you choose "Clear History", these're removed. Additionally, you can insert a "Return code" or "Tab code" in the "String", by choosing it. Stamp When you point to this, it lists the following "Stamps". If you need to specify, choose either one. These're inserted within the "String box", by a form that describes next. Date It's indicated as <DATE>. Time It's indicated as <TIME>. Page # It's each page number, that's indicated as <PAGE>. Total Page # It's the total page number, that's indicated as <PMAX>. Document Name It's each document name, that's indicated as <NAME>. Date Type, Time Type. Only at the time of choice about the "Date or Time", you can set each types additionally. If you need to specify, choose either one. Date Type Specifies the form of the date stamp. "H.yy/mm/dd" This's the description form of era in Japanese (using GENGOU). For example, at present, the "H.yy" is counted by using an era of "HEISEI". "Date Format 1~3". These depend the "Date & Time" of "Control Panels". Time Type Specifies the form of the time stamp. "Time Format 1~3". These depend the "Date & Time" of "Control Panels". Header (Footer) Style. If you want to change the appearance of the characters of the Headers (or the Footers), specify the Font, Size, Style, Color, or the Justify. 3.6. Window Menu ╩ ╩ The Window Menu controls the situation of a document window. Toolbar. Displays the "Toolbar" menu by sub-menu. The "Toolbar" menu controls indication of the "Toolbar" and the "Function Bar". Show Toolbar. Displays the "Toolbar" at the upper part of the document window. If you need more information, see "3.6.1.Toolbar". Show Function Bar Displays the "Function Bar". By using this, you can execute the commands that you'd assigned to the Function keys very quickly. If you need more information, see "3.6.2.Function Bar". Define Function bar... Displays the "Customize Dialog". By using this, you can customize the assignment of "F1-F12 keys". If you need more information, see "3.2.4.4.F1-12 Key". Tile It arranges and displays those so that all of a window not be piled up. When you execute it with Shift key on, it arranges those vertically and displays. Stack It arranges and displays those so that all of a window be piled up. (This's equal to "Cascade" of Windows.) Zoom Displays a window of the front most to the whole screen by zoom. Switch Changes a window of the front to the next window most. When you execute it with Shift key on, it changes to the previous window. Window Name Displays the selected document window to the forefront, makes it active. 3.6.1. Toolbar The "Toolbar" is the "Tools" which the "buttons" in order to execute the "Menu Command" (of the File, Edit, Find) stuck to. By using this, with only mouse click, you can execute very quickly, the many commands that you'll use frequently. It can change indication / Non-indication by choosing "Show Toolbar" from Window menu.
